Hulda Stefánsdóttir Appointed Head of Academic Research Development at Iceland University of the Arts

BERG Contemporary congratulates Hulda Stefánsdóttir, as she has been appointed Head of Academic Research Development at the Iceland University of the Arts. The role entails leading the development of teaching, research, and academic methodology. It will serve to lead the construction and development of post-graduate programs, interdisciplinary initiatives, and implementation of the University’s policies in collaboration with other administrators and help create the foundation of a new doctorate program.

Hulda comes into this role with extensive academic experience, as she has served as a professor at the department of visual arts at the school from 2008 until 2016 and has been one of the founding leaders of its master’s program, from 2012–2016. She has served as the dean of the visual arts department twice and the head of quality, teaching, and research from 2018–2019 and since then she has been a research project manager at the University office, as well as having sat on numerous academic boards throughout the years.
