Þórdís Erla Zoëga selected for Billboard Commercial Break, Reykjavík

Þórdís Erla Zoëga has been chosen to appear in Billboard's 2026 Commercial Break, which operates advertising screens at various places in Reykjavík's capital area.
This is the result of an annual open call by Billboard, the Reykjavík Art Museum and y gallery. The work chosen by Zoëga is titled 'Sólarhringur' and will encourage new thinking about the relationship between humans, technology and nature. "It proposes that screens in urban spaces change with the light of day and take into account the hues of sunlight and its effect on the sky. In this way, the digital screen becomes a sundial that shows the rhythm of life, where the lifespan of the cell follows the light changes of the day in real time," the public announcement states.
BERG Contemporary congratulates the artist and encourages everyone to look out for the project in Reykjavík in the new year, starting on January 1st, 2026.
